Kitchen Design - What Kitchen Designing Elements Do You Need to Make An Ideal Kitchen
It is a mistake to suppose that any room, however small and unpleasantly situated, is "good enough" for a kitchen. The kitchen is the one room in the house that serves as the busiest room in most households and where families spend a great deal of their time together. For these reasons, every kitchen design, no matter how small the kitchen is, should have certain conveniences and health considerations included.
The kitchen should be one of the brightest rooms in the house. Kitchen windows should allow the sun free entrance through them; the windows should open from the top to allow a complete change of air. Light and fresh air are among the chief essentials to a happy and healthy house. The kitchens ventilation should be good enough to thoroughly remove all gases and odors so as not to create health hazards in other portions of the house.
When designing a kitchen, there should be ample space for tables, chairs, a kitchen range, kitchen sink, and kitchen cabinets, sometimes called cupboards. You may also want to consider including a kitchen island. However the room shouldn’t be so large as to necessitate too many steps between the main work stations of the kitchen. The work triangle consisting of the space between the kitchen stove, refrigerator and kitchen sink should not exceed 21 feet and should have no obstacles between them.
Undoubtedly much of the distaste for, and neglect of, "housework," arises from the fact that many kitchens are cramped, unorganized, unclean and generally unpleasant to work in. Even small kitchen designs should be light, airy, and tidy, with utensils that are bright and clean. Working in a clean kitchen makes the preparation of food and other tasks performed in a kitchen a pleasant task.
From a sanitary standpoint, kitchen floors should be impervious to moisture; hence, materials like concrete, floor tile or stone are better than wooden floors. Wood is a highly desired material to use in new kitchen designs. If you decide to use wood you need to ensure that all woodwork in and about the kitchen should be treated with finishes that won’t allow grease and moisture to penetrate the wood and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Elements of beauty should not be lacking in the kitchen. Personalize your kitchen with colors and items that are made from easy to clean materials. Plants are always a nice addition to any kitchen. Items that make your kitchen feel warm, cozy and pleasant will help create many wonderful memories for you and your family.
